The Japanese bridge and water-lily pond are not directly behind the house. A pedestrian underpass connects the two garden areas, and exits are final, so finish looking before following the way out.

Begin with the Clos Normand, where long flower beds stretch from the house toward the gate. The effect changes through the season, so a spring visit is not a lesser version of August, just a different color argument.
